Schedule a lesson!

I teach on the faculties of Brooklyn College, William Paterson University, Ramapo College, and American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). I teach voice privately from my home, and from the AMDA Rehearsal Studios in Manhattan. Let’s work the way you feel most comfortable!

Services I currently offer:

  • 30-min Consultation on Zoom, or in-person

  • 55-min Voice Lesson on Zoom (or in-person, from Bergen county)

  • 55-min Voice Lesson in Person (in NYC)

Once you have booked an appointment, look for a Zoom invitation by email from me on the day of your lesson. If you prefer to work in person, I currently teach from home in Bergen County, NJ, and also from the AMDA Rehearsal Studioes, located at 250 W. 54 Street in NYC.

Please note that lessons may be cancelled within 24 hours directly on the website. If you must cancel after this period of time elapses, the lesson is non-refundable.

If you plan to work on specific repertoire in a lesson, I recommend setting up a pre-recorded accompaniment through a secondary device to play through an external speaker as we interface on Zoom. It works very nicely, and this way I will hear both you and your accompaniment balanced from your end. I play keyboard for exercises on my end, but if you prefer to utilize a keyboard on your end that works, too.

I look forward to seeing you soon,

Tami

"… what an incredible gem Tami Petty is! I've been working with Tami since moving to New York in 2012 and I feel so lucky to have been introduced to her. As a singer she is nothing short of exquisite. As a teacher and pedagogue she is down-to-earth, relatable, caring, stylistically open (I'm a jazz singer!), and is armed with a staggering knowledge of anatomy and technique. Her instruction has truly made me a better artist. She is simply the best."

“Tami’s sense of humor is a great antidote….I find repeatedly that the lightheartedness of her approach is also a gateway to greater technical command.  She has helped to draw out my most expressive singing on many levels, and cheered me on as I’ve evolved from a more doubtful, passive stance…to one of deeper confidence and lasting joy in the craft.”

“Tami is a consummate technician who is deeply aware of the physical mechanism of singing, and a kind, empathetic soul who understands how everything in our life — our stress, our fatigue, our exercise regimen, our emotional state — can all specifically impact our ability to be the best artists we can be. She has really changed my singing, and makes me want to be the best version of myself.”
